Private Tutoring Information
Location
Individualized tutoring takes place at my home classroom in West Asheville.
(If you need me to travel to your location, I will negotiate the price based on travel time, etc.)

Sessions
Reserved-time tutoring sessions are booked in one-hour blocks a month in advance.
Drop-in tutoring sessions can be scheduled if I have open blocks available.
SUMMER tutoring sessions (June-August) are booked either in advance or as-needed and are billed at the end of the month.

Pricing
Reserved-time: $65 per hour.
Total amount for the month is due at the beginning of each month.
Off-site tutoring: I am available to tutor at a location more convenient to your needs. Locations may include a local library, your child's school, or at your home. Cost is $75 per hour (plus an additional travel fee if your location is 5+ miles from my home in West Asheville) and is payable monthly, in advance.
Orten-Gillingham approach to reading: $65 per hour for students who need this targeted, specified instruction (plus additional hourly fees for optional parent toolkit for at-home daily practice)
Drop-in: $75 per hour payable at time of session.
Cash, check or credit/debit card (PayPal) accepted.

Cancellations
48 hour notice of cancellation by e-mail is required to receive credit for a rescheduled session within the same month. Exceptions can be made for family or medical emergencies with established clients.
Tardiness
If you arrive late for your scheduled or drop-in session, I cannot extend the session to accommodate due to subsequent appointments. Please arrive on-time (5-10 minutes early.)

Communication
I make every effort to communicate clearly with parents and teachers on a regular basis about the individual needs and progress of each student. I can communicate over the phone, e-mail, or in-person. If lengthy communication is needed, I can schedule a conference at my normal tutor rates.
Assessments
I offer quality diagnostic assessments in literacy and math. The fee for each test is $100.
Reading: The online reading assessment provides objective, individualized assessment data across eight reading measures that together profile each student's reading abilities and prescribes individual learning paths.
Math: The online diagnostic math assessment is a comprehensive assessment of mathematics that covers K-7 mathematics. It provides a complete picture of each student’s strengths and weaknesses, including instructional points across the 44 sub-tests of K-7 mathematics.
